I've sent a lot to the archives by the way Kumo had more topics than the rest of the big five combined. Are we keeping Hosho(Star) and Taki(Waterfall) or getting rid of them? Selt could you send a mass email inviting people back. Also inform them that they have 30 days from the date you send the email to reclaim thier character, or we may and can repurpose them as premade characters or event npcs. Do either of you know how to modify the forum appearance?
I might not be able to get on next week.

Why don't we do the same thing we did with the Pact of Four villages, and just make it so only the admins can see them, until we sort them out? I think we should make sure the site is cleaned up and presentable before we send the mass e-mail. If we send it before we're ready, we'll lose a few possible members. --- How does this look for a village Ninja Roster? warof8.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=stonevillage&thread=3592&page=1

Okay, I'll put one in every village.
---
Hey, question. I'm looking at bringing back a character from the Mist Village, and he knows techniques from the Rock Village. That seems to kind of be a plot hole, not to mention him having done a lot of missions with Ryuujin from the Cloud. I want to know how we fix plot holes like this, when people are bringing their characters back? I know we can just say that the person is an NPC from your own village, but I kind of wonder about other village's jutsu. Is that stuff okay?

Sorry for double post, but are you guys still around? I know you're off for a bit Jedo, but selt, what do you want to work for now? The hourglass flips over again. And our days are still numbered. Nothing can change that, and there's not a way to take back the lives that we lose. No amount of chakra, effort, and no kind of miracle will revive what used to be. Dear child, this is a war. No matter where you stand, where you lie, how or when you fall, there is someone out there who is against you. And they will turn over every leaf and break as many bones as it takes to find you. Where did the heroes go? What happened to everything we knew and everyone we loved? Years passed. People died. Places changed, and the very earth remade itself to suit the ties that battles severed with casual ease. The clock is ticking, and this world isn't waiting for anyone. It's your move.
---
This is The Grand Shinobi War. The Great Five have found themselves at each other's throats one more time, with sparks of tension becoming attacks that nobody seemed to order, which transformed into battles over the lost on either side, and the dominoes tumbled over from there. Every village has their own weapon. The Tenjuu Demons are running loose with nobody holding the leashes. A new threat, the Kageru Bou, are pulling strings from the shadows, sowing disarray on one side, while tending the forgotten gardens of the world. Yet somehow, life goes on, and the world is still your playground. So, go on. Take it for a spin, before the glass is empty. So, here's some ideas to throw out. Are we still working with the Tenjuu Demons? I liked them, honestly. Do we still want to be 500 years after? I think we could go either before or after that, in case we want to tie in the events of the previous incarnation of the site as history or backstory, even if it was just fourty years. A villian faction. What if, instead of trying to capture the Bijuu or whatever, the villians were part of the Samurai Lands, and they were the cause of the war, orchestrating events and attacks that looked like they were done by other villages, so that the weapons dealers could have a boost in sales, bringing income, allowing them to have power and money, letting them perform a greater takeover of the economy and ninja world. Thoughts?

I like it all, to be honest.
I think we could stay 500 years after the canon.

The real reason I was suggesting the possible time difference was so that if people wanted to not have to fiddle with their old characters' back-stories that involved the Pact of Four, they wouldn't have to change that stuff, and we could have a timeline somewhere, and at some point have the times at which the villages were defeated etc. Or, they could just fix their history and keep their characters the same age.
I just think it'd be interesting to have that possibility to use the old villages, and if/when we do use them for plot, there's a bit of history, and they're coming back having already been fleshed out in the characters' pasts, instead of just "btw there's this rad village that popped out of effing nowhere fight them off", if you get me? I'm not particularly attached to it, but I think it'd be interesting.

Double posting is going to become a thing for a bit, my apologies. I created this thread to explain Tenjuu Demons, in the registration section, and list all the ones we had going. I kept the names on the ones that had belonged to people who seemed like they might come back (Pact and Alliance, I know), and just put them all up there temporarily because I wasn't sure what we might like to use them for as plot. I'd like to use Tayuya/Pakaomaga somewhere, or at least offer them to a plot device. Also, with the default skin being the light blue one, I'm not sure the big grey banner fits. Should we change the default banner back to the grey one? On graphics note, I did a quick Meet The Staff thing, because I was tired of the completely outdated one. If anyone needs the old one, it's right here.Thoughts?

No, don't worry about it, really. If you can't get on, that's completely alright. The thing is I have literally nothing to do with my time right now, so I get antsy and attack the site. As long as you can help the members, once they exist, that's great. Also, if you can post in chat or some other places to make it look like this site is run by a guy with who has a serious internet addiction, that'd be great. xD - Also, I added an Admin profiles quick link thing, under Meet The Staff. I've always wanted that. Posting this in staff room as well, I need (would like) somebody else to figure out some of the Kageru Bou signature jutsu. The supplies section is here. www.warof8.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=kagebase&action=display&thread=3634I added spoiler tags!

Since someone revived me back to this site here are my suggestions that I will go over individually:
1. Common Jutsu vs Village Jutsu 2. Regular Ninja vs Bloodline Limit 3. Role playing Rewards 4. Village relationship, lore and Kage's 5. Diversity of skills.
1. Starting with biggest issue as this will mean the site would have to go over big change concerning jutsu storage, I suggest that we compile the jutsu's of each village into one Forum, except Village Unique techniques. There are several reasons behind this kind of thinking and we can access it via canon point of view or just elaborate it from role playing efficiency point of view.
Let's start with Canon point of view with most popular character and main lead, Naruto Uzumaki. As we all know Naruto uses Wind elemental chakra and resides in Leaf village which is in Country of Fire, which on our site would mean he has to utilize only fire techniques. This alone explains that there are some diversities in techniques between villages, but some are well known by others. Sasuke can use lighting techniques without being Cloud ninja, Orochimaru doesn't use just Sound techniques, etc. Still as we have found out in the official plot, the villages guard their SECRET techniques with great power, so each village has a set of skills that aren't know to public.
From efficiency point of view this will allow many people to learn techniques they want, only bound by chakra nature they sport, while able to go into villages that are mostly dead. So someone can easily go to Sand Village and use fire techniques if they have prerequisite for it, and so on and so on.
This though shouldn't be sported for Clans and Kekkai Genkai's as they should be considered part of Villages secret techniques.
2. Many people dislike playing normal ninjas as they psychologically don't feel the thrill, nor feel special when doing so. Each and every member wants to have a chance to achieve something great, so they will always flock around already overpowered cliches and bloodlines.
In order to make Regular vs Bloodline ratio of character balanced I propose a system where Regulars will be granted some special gifts. For starters they should be only possible carriers of Tenju demons as you call them now.
Besides that we might exploit the power system to our advantage, limiting Kekkai Genkai users to only 80 out of 100 points under excuse that they have a branch more to master, but Kekkai Genkai branch they could master up to 100 points. This would mean that while Kekkai Genkai users earn advantage from their bloodlimits, the regulars have advantage in sheer firepower as they can become stronger through training alone.
3. Role playing rewards should be something that drive the members to work harder, to write better posts, to be more real, to be more modest, but eager to succeed. For example, let's say someone fights and opponent exploits enemies fear of fire. If the role player ignores his own weakness that's a minus in his record and he probably won't be applied for role playing reward.
If he however takes full damage from that attack, that's a big reason to reward him later on with some sort of gift. Gifts could be unique weapons/puppets/pets/ even bloodlimits.
I say bloodlimits as I want to avoid introducing Sharingan and Rinnengan as starting clan, as they are overpowered and most people don't know how to efficiently role play with them without making their characters broken. For this reason alone I say we kill off all of Uchiha's and 'store' their eyes at some storage facilities or something and allow players to 'find them' when they are gifted with chance. That way Sharingan will exist to some point, but we won't be overrun with Sasuke-wanna-be's clones and low rp skills, but instead we get people who are top of their class and can make characters like Kakashi and so on.
Rinnengan should be supremest reward of them all, given to only one player who was put most effort into both role playing and forum. What Rinnengan would do can be discussed later on, but this is huge motive for members to interact, to make jutsu's that would be public by nature and not just their own, and even interact with new members and help them out in student/teacher relationships.
4. As the revival process is in place I would like for all active Kages and 'ebil' organization leader to meet up and discuss the joined lore of the villages, list of passed famous ninjas and their relationships. This will bring to next things. First we have realistic story that all can enjoy without confusion. Secondly we have famous ninja's of the past people can worship inside the character and make people want to make a character like that out of character. Thirdly if we ever have to go with Edo Tensei trouble, we could just pull out one of those characters as target and demonstrate highest art to new members and make them see how a true masterpiece ninja works.
5. One problem we have is that Clans and Kekkai genkai don't have diversity that Regular's have. Hyuuga have their techniques and that's that. What I propose is to make sub-types of each clan and kekkai genkai with their own sets of techniques that would make up for different styles of players. For example Hyuuga.
We have Neji and Hinata. Neji is attacker, while Hinata is defender. From this point we can develop next thing.
As Neji is attacker, his branch of skills would have techniques that enter into enemies field, close chakra's and deal huge internal damage. This type could be called for example '64 palm demon' or whatever.
As Hinata is defender, her branch of skills would concentrated on having her personal space defended, tracking her enemy and deal counter attacks. This type could be called 'seikuuken' or something (too much Kenichi for me).
Well for now I am letting you judge my ideas and we shall see what will happen with them first before I go over next set of surprises.

I knew I e-mailed you for a reason. That's pretty much all brilliant.
I love your ideas on the jutsu index, especially since I have an Earth user in Kiri and was wondering about the problems there. Really like the regular vs. kekkai thing, that's a fantastic idea. Role playing rewards are a fantastic idea, because some people just want to watch the world burn, and that's getting boring. I'd be happy to put together a lore about legendary ninja of the past, and I like the variation idea of the clans. One thing I see (myself included), is that a lot of people create a clan or kekkai genkai family, then only want themselves to be able to use it. And that's lame. So if we could cut that out, that'd be sweet.
I hate to press this again, but I think we should at least be 3-4 years past the Trio/Pact War, because otherwise we have characters with a lot of background stories that don't make sense, and I know 4 years is a long time for Genin/Chuunin aged characters, but for characters that had inter-village relationships, it just makes things really difficult to explain. Here's my example.
My character Rokudou (Kirigakure) did a load of jobs with Ryuujin no Yagami, the Kumo Rooster Host. It was where most of his character development happened, and there's mention of the war with the Blood in his history. There's no sense just pretending it didn't happen. If we were ahead a few years (doesn't have to be many at all) then we can say the Pact of Four fell due to overall outnumberedness (not true, but bear with me) and that peace briefly came about the land, before the Kageru Bou came and created another war through pulling diplomatic strings. That way we at least know what happened with situations like that, instead of plot holes where Rokudou goes "well, I know him, and I did a bunch of missions with him, and we were friends, despite the fact that we've been at war for years and years."
